Definition

Treatment Models

BPS model assuming illness is to an extent dictated by lifestyle factors that contribute to the condition of the individual.

Stigma + courtesy stigma: Conditions that set someone apart or mark them as different, potentially inferior or in a negative light. Courtesy stigma extends this to those who are related to the individual or close.

Management:

Discrediting - when it(condition) is clearly visible to others

Discreditable - Pass off as normal, hide the condition, withdrawal/avoidance, Open air opposition and raising awareness
