Structure and Function
Composition/Function:
- Cells (9)
- Extracellular Matrix
Connective Proper:
Loose Vs Dense Vs Adipose
- Loose - Much Ground Substance, Many Cells, Less Collagen. Random arrangement.
- Supports Microvasculature, Nerves, Immune cells
- Eg. Lamina Propria (Basement Membrane)

-
Dense Regular - More Collagen Fibres, Less ground substance, Few Cells. Fibres run Parallel.
- Withstands pressure/force along one axis and anchors to a structure. Connects musculoskeletal system.
- Eg Tendon - Binds muscle perimysium, epimysium to periosteum. Confluence of contractile force.

-
Dense Irregular - More Collagen, Randomly arranged fibres. Little Ground Substance and Cells.
- Withstands Force from multiple directions, Resists Tearing, Protects & Supports organs.
- Dermis, Organ Capsules, Submucosa
